(The study with Psalm 97 — including video, audio and notes — is available here)
This Psalm really reinforces the verses of Psalm 96, which talked about showing forth His salvation from day to day with praise and thanks (Psa 97:12).
Psa 97:12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
A parallel is drawn in this study with Psalm 19 to remind us of the strength that is ours with Christ working with His workmanship (Eph 2:10) in the firmament of our heavens as the bridegroom who is preparing us through this ‘day of the Lord’ to be the bride of Christ (Psa 19:1 , Rev 19:7).
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Psa 19:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
