Psalm 79 “Take no thought for your life”

It is fitting that this particular study was done in three parts knowing that three represents the The Process Of Spiritual Completion, and in order for us to not take any thought for our life we have to go through a process that brings us unto completion or perfection (Luk 13:32).

Luk 13:32  And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

God’s people are brought low through this process of judgement that includes not just stumbling unto Christ but being crushed and matured through the much tribulation which we are promised (Mat 21:44 , Act 14:22).

Mat 21:44  And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Act 14:22  Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

The hope of our calling on this narrow journey unto perfection is that God can and will bring us to see that He is the one giving the increase, and is the one who is sovereign over his workmanship which we are, and that Christ will not deny himself even though our flesh must witness this denial three times as Peter who is a type of us did (2Ti 2:11-13 , Mat 26:34).

2Ti 2:11  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
2Ti 2:12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
2Ti 2:13  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

Mat 26:34  Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

God is burning out all that can be burned out of us so that we can enter into the temple of God (Rev 15:8) and praise him with these words found in Revelation which witness to the point that there is a process that we must go through in order to have that praise perfected (Rev 4:8).

Rev 15:8  And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Rev 4:8  And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

It is because we are crushed under that stone which represents Christ that the living waters can pour forth which give us the power to witness to the world of His life (Mat 21:44 , Rev 11:3). We grow in being comfortable in the fire as a result of being brought low within it (Isa 33:13-16).

Mat 21:44  And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Rev 11:3  And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Isa 33:13  Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
Isa 33:14  The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
Isa 33:15  He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
Isa 33:16  He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

This Psalm also focuses on the blood shed by the saints, and the need for us to acknowledge that the generation that God is working with in this age is the one who admits that they are guilty of the blood of the prophets from Abel to Zacharias (Mat 23:35).

Mat 23:35  That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

That confession of our blindness and the wickedness which is in all flesh is impossible except the Lord reveals it to us. Until He does we continue to maintain our position that we see and therefore our sins remain (Joh 9:41).

Joh 9:41  Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

God will redeem all men in time but he starts with the weak of the world (1Co 1:26) and brings us to a point of acknowledging our need for one another in order to grow (1Co 12:21), and it is with this singleness of mind that we become a healthy body of Christ which is formed by God (1Co 12:18) so that all the world can see the witness of this true discipleship that God has created through His spirit (Act 1:8 , Joh 13:35 , Rom 5:5).

1Co 1:26  For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

1Co 12:21  And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

1Co 12:18  But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

Act 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Joh 13:35  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Rom 5:5  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
