In order to bring forth the precious fruit of being able to judge a matter rightly as Christ did in this life (Joh 5:30) we must put off our flesh and be granted to die daily as we deny ourselves, while carrying our cross (1Cor 15:31 , Gal 2:20 , Mat 16:24).

Joh 5:30  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

1Co 15:31  I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Gal 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Mat 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

This particular Psalm deals with that process of dying for the Son, as we’re baptized into His death by dying daily, which is what is required if our judgement is going to be just (Rom 6:3). This Psalm 9 reveals that the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (all that is in the world within us 1Joh 2:16) must be mortified (Rom 8:13) and will be as a result of the goodness and mercy of God which will lead us unto repentance because of His goodness working through this lifelong process of forbearance and longsuffering (Rom 2:4 , Jas 5:7).

Rom 6:3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Rom 8:13  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Rom 2:4  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Jas 5:7  Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Now we see through a glass darkly (1Cor 13:12) as we learn to discern the good and evil and grow into mature sons who are carrying out the will of God (Heb 5:14). His will is leading all His children in this age to become kings and priests who will rule the world with God’s judgements written in our hearts (Eze 36:26) , enabling us to be subject unto Christ as our head (Eph 5:24).

1Co 13:12  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Heb 5:14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Eze 36:26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Eph 5:24  Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Psalm 9 discusses how God prepares his people to be judges through judgement by way of fiery trials (1Pet 4:12 , 1Pet 4:17) and reveals what joy there is in seeing Him faithfully accomplish this within His little flock who are a kind of first fruits being brought unto perfection on the third day by His will (Luk_12:32 , Psa_30:5-7 , Jas 1:18 , Php 2:13 , Luk 13:32).

1Pe 4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Luk 12:32  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Psa 30:5  For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Psa 30:6  And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
Psa 30:7  LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

Jas 1:18  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Php 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Luk 13:32  And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

It is a life long process of judgement which is upon the house of God that has us scarcely being saved as our Father drags us out of the earth, earth, earth, (Jer 22:29) through a process that is perfecting the saints through a ministry which is bringing the entire body of Christ into the unity of the faith (Eph 4:12-13). The process is a narrow way with a narrow escape, however the victory that God declares is from the beginning and so we are called to be confident of this very thing that (Php 1:6) declares.

Jer 22:29  O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

Eph 4:12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Php 1:6  Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

After we go through the process of drinking this cup of judgement we will be able to say to the rest of the world just as Christ does to us that you will indeed drink this cup (Mat 20:23 , 1Joh 4:17).

Mat 20:23  And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

1Jn 4:17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
