Psalm 75 “The horns of the righteous shall be exalted”

Our study with Psalm 75 entitled “The horns of the righteous shall be exalted” is available here.

This study took us in many different directions in regard to seeing how God is Sovereign over the process of making all things new (2Co 5:7), and Sovereign throughout the entire journey from start to finish through Christ (Heb 12:2).

2Co 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Heb 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Firstly if God is not mindful of us, or working with us in this age we will not progress spiritually (Psa 8:4). That is humbling in and of itself, but what we’ve been looking at more closely in this study is the number ‘three’ and how our east, west and south walk of our entire life are three directions that symbolize the process of what God uses to bring us to the symbolic north where judgement is upon the house of God.

Psa 8:4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

We don’t naturally abide in the light of judgement which is in the north, but if we do, it witnesses to us that we have a hope of glory within us that God the Father alone is dragging us toward for the express purpose of being purified through judgement which leads to abundant life in Him (Joh 6:44 , Col 1:24 , 1Joh 3:3)

Joh 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Col 1:27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

1Jn 3:3  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

We live and move and have our being in Christ (Act 17:28), and by the grace and faith of Christ are caused to be led by the holy spirit as we’re dragged to Christ who is symbolically in the north where we are judged (1Pe 4:17).

Act 17:28  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Little by little we get more comfortable with this concept of his judgement upon us and how he is making his strength perfect through our weakness (Isa 33:14 ,  2Co 12:9). We come to see and believe that this present suffering that judgement brings upon our fleshly carnal minds creates tribulations and trouble for us but it is nothing compared to the glory that will be revealed and so we learn to rejoice and again I say rejoice in all of it (Php 4:4). We come to see that God’s purpose will not fail as He drags us to Christ and gets us comfortable in that fiery judgement that is purifying us (Joh 6:44 , 1Pe 4:12).

Isa 33:14  The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

2Co 12:9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Php 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Joh 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

1Pe 4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

Everyone who has this hope of glory within them is someone who is little by little being dragged to the light of the world, Christ (Joh 8:12), who God directs to sanctify us with His word as the comforter leads us into all truth (Joh 16:13), so that we can learn true judgement through the sum of God’s word.

Joh 8:12  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Joh 16:13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
