Psalm 62

The 2-part study for Psalm 62 is now available here. :

Psa_62:1-7 “Wait on the Lord and be of good courage”

Waiting on the Lord and being of good courage are only possible when God brings us to be confident in His power and might. It is when we believe that “He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence [that we] shall not be greatly moved”. This thought is mentioned twice word-for-word in this Psalm to remind us that it is Christ in us — the hope of glory — that witnesses to where this power comes from that gives us the confidence and boldness needed to go from glory to glory as we put off our flesh through Christ, and witness to ourselves and the world around us that we are more than conquerors through Christ. That is what it means to be the two witnesses of Revelation 11: given power to be able to be witnesses for three and one half symbolic years.

Psa_62:8-12 “Trust in him at all times”

The second study compliments the idea that it is God’s power working in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure. We learn to trust in God and do those works, as He challenges us by dragging us to our Lord who is the author and finisher of that given faith that must be tried in the fire in order to precious unto Him. Trusting in God is a gift that is given and accomplished through the putting off of our flesh. When we become of the generation who have no confidence in the flesh, it is because God is allowing us to be that generation spoken of in Matthew 24 who are told that they must experience “all these things” in order to have the patience and faith of the saints required to endure until the end. This is all a blessed gift given to very few in this age who are witnessing as we die daily that Christ alone is the one through whom we can endure all things and learn to trust our Creator even unto death.
