The main hope filled message for God’s elect in chapter six of Daniel is this “Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee” of (Dan 6:16).
Dan 6:16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
In other words if we are granted to continue in the truth, we are promised that the truth will set us free (Joh 8:31-32). Christ who is the way, the life and the truth, will set us free, and he will stay the mouth of the lions as he did with Daniel by praying to our Father in heaven to give us the faith of Christ to conquer any fearful situation in this life (Luk 22:32 , Rev 2:10). Daniel’s faith is typical of what the elect will be able to do under any circumstances, and we are promised that God will never create a trial in our life that He won’t make a way for us to be able to bear it (1Co 10:13).
Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
This story of Daniel’s being put in a den with lions to be delivered is a living example of what God can and will do for those who are His in this life. We will be protected from the evil one because Christ has prayed for us, and we have prayed for each other that our faith fail not (Luk 22:32). That faith that Christ prayed for Peter to have (Luk 22:32) was the faith of Christ, which is what is needed to prevent Satan from sifting us like wheat or devouring us as these lions would have, except the Lord had sent an angel to stop the mouths of these beasts, which actions typify the conversion of our hardened hearts (Dan 6:22).
Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Dan 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
The angel being sent to stop the mouths of the lions are lions that now represent the elect who will be used to go to others whose nature is to be changed as these beasts were. The elect’s hearts will be changed first so that they can administer the lake of fire as well as smite nations from afar as they tear down the old foundation of mankind during the reign of the saints and during the great white throne judgement, a tearing down that is represented by every bone that was broken by these lions who represent God’s threshing instrument that the elect will be as they rule over the nations of this world during the symbolic period of time of one thousand years, and later as they administer the lake of fire, or great white throne judgement (Dan 6:24 , Rev 19:15 , Rev 20:6).
Dan 6:24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the
den.Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
